As of May of 2021, I have sat on the executive board as the Event Planning Co-Director for Miami University Fashion and Design. MUF&D is the biggest organization at Miami University with over 800 members and we produce the largest student-run fashion show in the country. As the Event Planning Co-Director, I am responsible for executing more than 20 additional events a year. Below are highlights from some of our events.

16th Annual Fashion Show

This year's 16th Annual Fashion Show Presented by EXPRESS was themed OASIS. This year over 1,200 people were in attendance including EXPRESS CEO, Tim Baxter. We had 16 student designers and 75 models. In addition to the show, we also hosted a trunk show so companies, micro-influencers, and students could sell and show off their crafts. Prior to the start of the show, we held a raffle and VIP party for friends, family, and sponsors of the show.

Model Designer Reveal

After we cast our fashion show I was tasked with the responsibility of planning and executing our Model/Designer Reveal Party. As you watch the videos you will see our signature drink, "The Icon", and a red carpet for models to get their picture taken on with their designers. The photos were used for promotional purposes and featured on the Instagram and website. This was a fairly new and wildly successful event.

Theme Reveal

The Theme Reveal is our annual announcement of the Fashion Show theme. The goal of this event is to invite members to celebrate together. This year our 16th Annual Fashion Show theme is Oasis. After a year of uncertainty, we discovered that Miami University Fashion & Design is our happy place where we feel that we can be our truest form of self. In the video, you will see our signature cocktail, The Orchid, a vodka soda with a dash of theme colors and edible flowers. The well attended event was a huge success.

Clothing Swap & Green Week

From Oct. 25-28, MUF&D held its first Green Week, focusing on the ongoing movement of sustainability in fashion. Throughout the week, educational and interactive social media projects were promoted on Instagram including a thrifted Outfit Of The Day Challenge, a sustainability video, and noteworthy statistics. At the Clothing Swap, members were able to bring in old clothing and trade for "new" items in an effort to encourage sustainable methods of acquiring clothing.
