Hi everyone! Sorry I have been a little distant lately; as the saying goes it's not you, it's me.
My parents and I made the very long and very painful trek from Connecticut to Oxford, Ohio about a week and a half ago. Moving into my off campus house, I didn't know what to expect. Obviously things weren't going to be what I knew and loved about Miami University, but somehow the administration is planning to make it work. So far my classes have been strictly online which, quite frankly, hasn't been too terrible; and I love almost all of them (statistics will never be my thing). I am majoring in Strategic Communications and Fashion Corporate Business. This semester I choose to load up on my major classes: advertising, strategic communications and theories, I just got through syllabus week and it looks like it is going to be a tough semester but an entertaining one as well.
An activity I've been doing to keep myself sane is spending as much time as possible with my friends. We are all living in separate houses/apartments so it has been really nice to bounce back and forth to each other's homes. Also, I have been exercising like crazy because the Recreational Center is one of the few places on campus that has remained open. At first I was nervous going because during a typical semester it is packed like sardines in there, but Miami faculty has done a phenomenal job making sure there is 6 feet of physical distance and all of the machines are properly cleaned. In addition to heading to the gym, I have taken up running around campus. Part of the reason why I chose to attend Miami University is for the campus' beauty. It was devastating to me that I lost half a semester not being on campus so I am trying to make up as much time as possible and take everything in.
I am so excited to be back on campus, even with the new requirements in place, and I am very exciting to keep you posted on my semester!
